Residual Interference Suppression in Parallel Interference Cancellation Receivers

چکیده
| Parallel interference cancellation (PIC) receivers are among the most promising receiver techniques for future code-division multiple-access (CDMA) systems. Interference cancellation eeciency relies on the knowledge of the number of users and propagation paths needed in multiple-access interference (MAI) estimation. In practice, the exact number of users and paths is not known exactly, e.g., due to inter-cell interference, unknown propagation paths or new users trying to connect to the base station. As a result, there will be some residual interference even with perfect cancellation of the known signal components. In many cases, the inter-cell interference can be large enough to signiicantly degrade the performance of the PIC receivers. For that reason, residual interference suppression is crucial to guarantee that the PIC receivers can operate reliably. Residual interference can be reduced by applying adaptive antennas to PIC receivers 1]. In this paper, another possibility is considered. The approach taken is to combine PIC receivers with blind adaptive interference suppression techniques in single sensor receivers.

HYBRID INTERFERENCE CANCELLATION RECEIVER FOR DS-CDMA SYSTEMS L.Nithyanandan and P.Dananjayan
In a CDMA system, the performance of channel matched filter receivers are limited by the presence of multi-user interference. Hence receivers must be capable of suppressing these interferences. Interference suppression or interference cancellation works by subtracting the interfering users from the received signal, thus allowing an improved error rate for the user of interest. In this paper a h...

| The linear minimum mean squared error (LMMSE) criterion can be used to obtain near-far resistant single-user receivers in direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS-CDMA) systems. The standard version (postcombining) of the LMMSE receiver minimizes the mean squared error (MSE) between the lter output and the actual transmitted data sequence. Since the detector depends on the channel co...

This thesis investigates the deployment and performance of indoor/outdoor DS-CDMA systems assuming both conventional receivers and multiuser detection receivers at the base stations. In the first part of this thesis, measured propagation data and a DS-CDMA system performance testbed (based on a Monte Carlo analysis) are used to quantify both the downlink and uplink outage probabilities for a va...
متن کاملConvergence of linear interference cancellation multiuser receivers
We consider the convergence in norm of several iterative implementations of linear multiuser receivers, under the assumption of long random spreading sequences. We find that asymptotically, linear parallel interference cancellation diverges for systems loads of greater than about 17%. Using known results from the theory of iterative solutions for linear systems we derive optimal or near optimal...
